Mobile App Development

We recommend either a responsive web app or React Native for iPhone and Android users

Do You Need a Native App?

A quicker approach can be to create a responsive web app, that works on both desktop and mobile devices. This cuts down on both the upfront development and its maintenance, but won’t get you in the App Store. An intermediate option could be a responsive web app rolled into an app on the Apple App and Android Play stores. However if you have the budget, there is a reason why React Native is the world’s leading mobile app framework.

React Native

If you want the full benefits of native app, then this is the route we recommend. Benefits include:

  • Offline functionality, so the app still works when outside of mobile reception. If needed, the app can then sync-up with the server once back in reception.

  • Faster app performance compared to a web app

  • Live (hot) reloading, speeding up development time compared to other mobile app frameworks like Ionic or Xamarin

  • Support for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac

  • A large number of third party plugins (authentication, maps, barcode scanning, push notifications) that we can use

Backend and Hosting

Most mobile app connect to a back-end server, allowing for functionality like creating a user account, logging in, loading data, and submitting jobs. We have expertise in both writing back-end systems, and integrating with existing systems via APIs.

Our hosting services are designed with automated monitoring and backups in place, providing our clients with a reliable, scalable and secure cloud or hybrid environment.
